Experience the thrill of wakesurfing on Lake Tahoe with Boat Tahoe’s wakesurfing charters, powered by the 2025 Four Winns HD8 Wakesurf Edition. This premium surf-ready boat delivers a clean, consistent wave that’s perfect for both beginners and experienced riders. Whether it’s your first time wakesurfing or you already know how to ride, our USCG-certified captain will guide you, offer tips, and help create an exciting and safe experience on the water.
During your charter, you can spend the full session wakesurfing or mix in sightseeing, cruising, water skiing, or wakeboarding depending on what your group prefers. As you ride, you’ll be surrounded by Lake Tahoe’s crystal-clear water and incredible alpine scenery, making this one of the most unique ways to enjoy the lake.
For the smoothest water and the best wave quality, early morning or late evening charters are recommended, though wakesurfing is available at any time of day. Please note that wakesurfing is only available on the Four Winns HD8 Wakesurf Edition, so make sure to select this boat when booking.
Pro Tip: Early morning wakesurf sessions almost always offer the calmest conditions and the best overall experience.
Lake Tahoe Wakesurfing Charter Frequently Asked Questions
1. What boat do you use for wakesurfing charters?
All wakesurfing charters take place on our Four Winns HD8 Wakesurf Edition, a surf-ready boat designed to create a clean, consistent wave on Lake Tahoe.
2. How many people can join a wakesurf charter?
Wakesurfing charters can accommodate up to 10 guests. This provides plenty of space for comfort, gear, and smooth surfer rotations.
3. What is the minimum duration for a wakesurfing charter?
The minimum duration is 2 hours, but for larger groups we recommend booking at least 3 hours so everyone has time to surf and take multiple turns.
4. Is wakesurfing gear included?
Yes. All wakesurfing gear is provided at no extra cost, including boards, ropes, and Coast Guard–approved life jackets.
5. Can we do other watersports during our wakesurf charter?
Yes. Many groups enjoy mixing in water skiing or wakeboarding during their session. Tubing is possible, but we generally suggest avoiding it because the tube takes up space on the back of the boat and interferes with the wakesurf wave.
6. Do I need prior wakesurfing experience?
No experience is required. While we don’t advertise full lessons, your captain will offer tips, guidance, and on-water direction to help you get started quickly.
7. Are there any age, skill, or experience restrictions?
There are no specific restrictions. As long as participants can safely follow instructions and wear a life jacket, they are welcome to try wakesurfing.
